Music lovers were left asking for more after singer DJ Nakissani hosted a successful RnB & Soul Link Up session at Khoroni Resort MooBar on Sunday evening, 15 March.
The strictly RnB and soul showcase brought together a strong line-up of local talent, including DJ Nakissani himself, Deejaý Busco, Lutroo Da-Music, The Force from Musina, RnB Chef, NWD, Lady Tianna and T’lou Da DJ, as well as other performers who kept the crowd entertained with smooth melodies and soulful performances late into the night.
The weekly initiative, spearheaded by Nakissani and founded in 2024, was started as a platform to revive and celebrate RnB and soul music while also giving local artists the opportunity to perform live and connect with audiences.
According to Nakissani, the project was inspired by the need to create more spaces where musicians can showcase their talent in a relaxed and intimate setting.
“We realised that many talented artists do not always get the opportunity to perform live, especially those doing RnB and soul music. This platform is meant to bring them together, give them exposure and allow people to appreciate this beautiful genre of music,” he said.
He added that the response from music lovers has been overwhelming since the project started and that the aim is to grow it into a regular event that will attract more artists and audiences.
Fans who attended the event praised the performances and the relaxed atmosphere, saying the show provided a refreshing alternative to the usual entertainment offerings. “The show was something out of this world. We enjoyed every minute of it,” said Mashudu Mulandou.
