Local soccer lovers will be heading to the Levubu Rugby Stadium tomorrow (Saturday) where the final of the annual Amos Charity Soccer Tournament will be staged.
Tshakhuma RO United and FC KK will meet in the final. RO United beat Tshakhuma Na Ndilani (TNN) 6-5 in their semifinal and KK beat Joe Maweja 1-0 in their semifinal.
The programme for the day will commence with an U/15 final match between Yebo Yes FC and Tshakhuma Young Tigers. The match will be followed by the losers' final between TNN and Joe Maweja. This match will start at 11:00.
Should they be crowned as the champions tomorrow, it will be the third time for FC KK. They were crowned the champions in 2013 and 2014. TNN lifted the trophy last year.
FC KK will pin their hopes on Itani Ngange, Tshifhiwa Ndou and Nathaniel Maise for goals, while United's combination of Rendani Mukomafhedzi, Takalani Ratshilima and Rinae Madzhuta is expected to give the defenders of KK no time to rest.
Ipfi Muthibi of RO United will watch the game from the touchline. He was given his marching orders in their semifinal against TNN.
This year's champions will walk away with a cash prize of R15 000, a floating trophy, gold medals, soccer kit and soccer balls. The runners-up will receive R13 000, silver medals, soccer kit and soccer balls. A cheque to the value of R10 000 is awaiting the team that will finish in the third position.
The champions in the U/15 category will receive R6 000 and a floating trophy, soccer kit, soccer balls and gold medals. The runners-up will take home R3 000, soccer kit, silver medals and soccer balls. The team that will finish in third place will receive R1 500.
The final is scheduled to start at 14:45.
