The 59-year-old owner of Klein Ranchero farm outside Musina lost her cell phone, R6 000 cash, some jewellery and a pistol to a group of four unknown suspects who broke into her farm house, police have said.

Musina SAPS spokeswoman Const Deborah Bob said the incident occurred on Thursday last week, at around 01:00. "The suspects broke the window panes and destroyed burglar bars of the house before they gained entry into one of the rooms, where they found the garden boy sleeping. They then assaulted him after which they tied his hands, using a rope," she said. Bob said soon after that the suspects then went to the farm owner's room where they demanded the safe keys before tying her hands.

The suspects took the keys and opened the safe where they took a pistol, R6 000 and jewellery before they took to their heels. The garden boy eventually managed to untie himself and subsequently rushed to a neighbouring farm where he reported the matter. Police were then alerted, but no arrests have been made so far.
