Rockers FC deposited full points into their league account over the past weekend. They beat Mbilwi New Generations 1-0 on Saturday and on Sunday they came back from a 0-2 deficit to beat Marula XI 3-2 at the Tshivhulani grounds.

Their game against Marula XI was a thriller. The home side enjoyed ball possession for the better part of the first half. Not surprisingly, they scored two goals within the first 20 minutes of the game. Their opening goal came in the 12th minute. Their skipper, Thendo Nyamande, gave the ball a final touch after a scramble within the box.

The referee, Mr Tshinanne Mulaudzi, flashed the first yellow card 16 minutes into the game. Maduvhahafani Makhuvha of Rockers found himself on the wrong side of the football laws when he obstructed Thendo Randima.

Marula increased the lead two minutes afterwards. Avhafunani Ramathieledzha beat the keeper with a ground cutter, following Musiiwa Magula's square pass. Rockers pulled one back before the teams adjourned for the half-time break when Rivoningo Shiviti was on target with a bicycle kick in the 40th minute.

The visitors from Makwarela Township came back strongly in the last half. They found the equalizer through a substitute, Simon Makhado. He headed home after the keeper of Marula, Mukovhe Netshaulu, mishandled the ball. Marula replaced their injured keeper, Thendo Randima, with Ndiimafhi Muruba soon afterwards.

Marula committed suicide by playing defensive football in the last 20 minutes of the game. Rockers capitalized on the setback and scored their winning goal in the 79th minute when Miyelani Marima beat the keeper with a long-range half volley.
