With just a week before the start of the Sasol Women’s League season, teams are leaving no stone unturned in their preparations. One such side is Rodadau FC.
According to Rodadau FC chairman Emmanuel Mudau, the club has assembled a formidable squad for the new season. Mudau revealed that most of last season’s players had been released. Only three players from the previous squad — Lethabo “Small” Sello, Tshedza Mulaudzi and Zelda Malahlela — will remain in Rodadau’s colours when the new campaign gets underway.
Mudau said that while the head coach was satisfied with the signings made so far, the club was still searching for an experienced goalkeeper. He added that most of the players currently at the club are under the age of 18. Mudau said he was convinced the team would go far with the squad they had assembled.
He said several goalkeepers had been given a chance to train with the club over the past weeks, but none had managed to convince the technical staff. When asked what would happen if they fail to secure a goalkeeper before the start of the season, Mudau said they were currently assessing another option who was likely to pass the head coach’s evaluation.
Mudau further said the club’s aim is to win the stream championship and secure a place in the provincial promotional playoffs at the end of the season. He added that the contract of head coach Thikhathali Libago had been extended for another season.
