Rofhiwa Millicent Munyai's outspokenness and inquisitiveness about international social current affairs have earned her a nomination in the Mzansi Arts and Media Awards (MAMA 2021).

Rofhiwa, popularly known as "Milly" or "Dj Roxy" to thousands of Makhado FM listeners, was nominated in the Best Radio Presenter category, and she has high hopes of bringing the award home.

"The nomination shows that my skills and talents as a radio presenter have not gone unnoticed," she said. "Sometimes we just focus on working hard, without any expectations for recognition or popularity. But now that I have been earmarked for this highly sought-after and contested award, I am really over the moon."

Rofhiwa obtained her qualification in media studies from Kundani Training College in Louis Trichardt and joined Makhado FM in 2015. "I have come a long way, and I am proud of my journey, which is founded in excellence, hard work and determination," she said.

Rofhiwa is the energetic voice behind The Sunrise show that aired on Makhado FM between 06:00 and 09:00 on Saturday mornings. She is also executive programme manager during the week.

"I also assist in field reporting when I'm not busy at the office, which also gives me more experience in that area of the industry," she said.

Rofhiwa's favourite quote is "if you want something, go and get it!".
