A resident of Malamulele, Ms Rose Maluleke, is still overjoyed after winning a brand-new car in the Roots Butchery Car Competition last Saturday.
While handing over the keys to the Renault Kwid, the manager of the Thavhani Mall branch of Roots Butchery, Mr Takalani Naledzani, said the competition was one of the many ways the company gave back to its loyal customers.
He explained that the competition had been running for the past six years, with the company giving away 20 cars nationwide each year. According to Naledzani, ten customers were randomly selected for the final draw last Saturday - five from the Modjadji, Tzaneen, Malamulele, Giyani, and Elim branches, and five from the Thavhani Mall branch.
Everyone walked away a winner at the event. The nine customers who did not win the car each received a grocery voucher worth R1,000. Naledzani also mentioned another ongoing competition at the store, where four lucky customers win grocery vouchers worth R500 every month.
To enter the current competition, customers must spend a minimum of R100 on groceries, write their personal details on the back of the till slip, and drop it in the entry box at the store.
Upon receiving the car keys, Ms Maluleke expressed her excitement, stating that she would use the car as her "shopping basket." She also revealed that she is a self-employed street vendor.
