After being crowned the overall champions of the Safa Vhembe Regional Association, the management of Tshakhuma RO Nandilani FC felt the necessity to report the team's achievement to the residents of Tshakhuma Mutsindoni village, where the club is based.
The ceremony during which the team's trophy was officially shown to the local traditional leader, Vhamusanda Vho-Naledzani Thangavhuelo, was held on Sunday morning.
When addressing the joyful gathering, Thangavhuelo indicated that the fact that a team from his area was going to represent Vhembe Region in the provincial playoffs was a good reason for him to rejoice. He further stated that Mutsindoni might be a small area, but the team had made it known even abroad.
He wished the team well in the provincial promotional play-offs that will be staged at the Nkowankowa Stadium in Tzaneen this weekend.
During the ceremony, three companies that assisted the team financially during the past season, Welties Investment, Muirhead and Roux and Globe Finance, were given certificates of appreciation by the local traditional leader.
The four local football referees, who officiate at different levels, Messrs Mpfunzeni Mahafha, Emmanuel Liphadzi, Fhulufhelo Masindi and Lyoid Mafuna, also received certificates. The manager of NFD side Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC, Mr Ricardo Miriri, was also recognized for his achievement. Miriri was the youngest team manager in the PSL last season.
RO Nandilani's head coach, Mr Mshudu "Coolio" Ndou, also received a certificate during the ceremony.
The president of Safa Vhembe, Mr George Kubayi, appealed to the residents of Vhembe District to rally behind the team in their promotional play-off campaign.
