Livhuwani Madadzhe is expected to appear in court on Monday, 13 April, on a charge of murdering his wife, despite his separate fraud case being postponed on Friday, 10 April.
Madadzhe, a social media influencer and comedian popularly known as SABC Livhu, briefly appeared in the Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court on Friday in connection with fraud allegations. The matter was postponed to 4 June to allow for further investigations.
However, attention is now shifting to a more serious matter. Madadzhe stands accused of murdering his wife, Lindelani Nengovhela, in a case that has shocked communities across Limpopo.
Nengovhela’s body was discovered in 2023 at their homestead, reportedly in a pit toilet. The State alleges that Madadzhe killed her and attempted to conceal the circumstances surrounding her death.
During earlier court proceedings, testimony raised concerns about Madadzhe’s actions after the incident, including claims that he contacted a funeral parlour before informing the police or the victim’s family.
The murder case is running parallel to Madadzhe’s fraud matter, in which he faces allegations linked to misrepresentation and possible insurance-related claims. Authorities have treated the cases separately, although both have contributed to heightened public interest in the influencer’s legal battles.
Legal experts say the murder charge carries far more severe consequences, with the State expected to rely on circumstantial evidence and witness testimony as the case unfolds.
Madadzhe’s legal representative has not publicly outlined a defence strategy in either matter.
Monday’s court appearance is expected to provide further direction on the murder case.
