Several issues, including confirmation of the clubs that had been relegated to the lower division, were part of the discussions during the meeting of the clubs affiliated with Safa Vhembe, held at the Thulamela Library Hall last Saturday.
During the meeting, the association's disciplinary committee revealed that it had dealt with a total of 52 misconduct cases during the recently concluded football season. Three of the cases involved the assault of match officials, while 41 related to the abandonment of games.
The last league matches for the past season were played over the weekend of 25 and 26 May. The last two teams from each stream had been relegated to the lower division.
The teams relegated to the local football association are Gumbani Young Stars and Tomorrow All Stars (Group A1), Botsoleni United and Phylimark FC (Group A2), Zwaloni Young Stars and Lukalo Hotspurs (B1), Phandulaluvalo FC and Muhuyu Copper Stars (B2), Mukumbani Shooting Stars and Tshivhungululu Hungry Vultures (C1), Mukula Avalon and Mapholi Gators FC (C2), Muziafera Blue Eagles and TRT Academy (D1), Maniini Real Madrid and Lwamondo Pull Together (D2), Vleifontein Academy and Mango Soccer Academy (E1), Madombidzha Chris United and Mira Black Pull (E2), Madadzhi Football Academy and Team Swiswi FC (F1), Mission Young Rovers and Ribungwani Sporting (F2), Matshavhawe Come to See and Tshithuthuni Remember My Promise (G1), Raliphaswa Black Panthers and Limpopo Uprising Soccer Academy (G2), Domboni Young Brothers and Maramanzhi Pull Together (H1), Madimbo Royal Eagles and Masea Try Again (H2), Tswera Hot Chillies and Makuya Try Again (I1), MD United and Ngalavhani Brave Lions (I2), and Matondoni Home Sweepers and Muledzhi Fire Boys (J).
One of the association's office administrators, Ms Basani Macevele, was honoured for the good work she performed for the association during the past season. She was presented with R5,000 and a certificate.
During the meeting, the league revealed that the teams that had finished on top of their respective groups will be engaged in their elimination-round matches this Saturday. The winners of these matches will secure places in the regional Champ of Champs matches, which are scheduled to be played over the weekend of 22 and 23 June.
