The case against a sangoma and his five co-accused, who were arrested for allegedly chopping and killing Mr Philip Bendzani of Ha-Mutonga village in the Elim area in May this year, was postponed again.
The sangoma, Mr Frans Madzive (54), and Messrs Rudzani Shadrack Malange (21), Meshack Mkhwanadzi (20), Lesley Meshack Malange (21), Reynie Abraal (31) and David Mnisi (27) appeared before the Louis Trichardt District Court on Tuesday. The six are facing charges of murder after they had allegedly killed Bendzani before setting his body alight.
They are accused of removing the victim's pubic hair and testicles. The incident occurred at Sweet Waters next to the Munuzwu Newco Farm. Apparently the accused's lawyer, Mr Desmond Mphaphuli, is no longer representing the men. The accused are now waiting for a legal representative from the Legal Aid Board.
