Sasol Women’s League: Limpopo teams prepare for busy weekend

It will be a busy weekend for teams in the Limpopo Stream of the Sasol Women's League, with seven matches scheduled for Saturday afternoon and one to be played on Sunday.

It will be a busy weekend for teams in the Limpopo Stream of the Sasol Women's League, with seven matches scheduled for Saturday afternoon and one to be played on Sunday.

All eyes will be on the clash between Sisters FC and Sinthumulekutama FC, which will take place at the Sinthumule High School Grounds on Saturday. Spirits are high in the Sinthumulekutama camp after their emphatic 6-0 victory over Real Mighty Ladies in their season opener at the Xikukwani Stadium outside Giyani.

However, underestimating Sisters FC could prove costly. The team narrowly missed out on the league title in each of the past three seasons and will be determined to make a statement.

Sealene Ladies will be looking to bounce back when they face Masakona Liberty Experience at the Sealene Sports Grounds in Phalaborwa. Sealene suffered a heavy 0-4 defeat to Rodadau FC in their opening fixture at the Tshitungulwane Grounds outside Vuwani.

Rodadau FC will play another home fixture at the same venue, this time against Real Mighty Ladies. Although head coach Mr Thikhathali Libago has confirmed the imminent signing of three experienced players, Rodadau are already looking formidable. Their attacking trio — Shonisani Mafela, Lethabo "Small" Sello and Tshedza Mulaudzi — will pose a serious threat to the Mighty Ladies' defence.

Maindis Ladies are preparing for a tough encounter against Dinaledi Ladies at the Mbokota Grounds outside Elim.

On Sunday, the University of Limpopo will take on Farm Girls Ladies at the Oscar Mphetha Stadium in Turfloop — the only match scheduled for that day.

Other Saturday fixtures include Toronto Ladies vs Kanatla Ladies and Ramatlaohle Ladies vs Marumo Gallants Development.
