The Safa Vhembe MMK Admistrators play-off match between Wayeni Sea Robbers and Rabali Pull Together at Tshifulanani Stadium on Sunday ended in a one-all draw.
The match was characterised by wasted chances on the part of the Robbers' strikers. Kulani Baloyi missed a shot from the edge of the box after a good pass from Walter Munyanyi. Baloyi dribbled past a number of defenders, but hesitated too long to release and he was dispossessed.
Although fans started to shout at the Rabali technical staff to replace Pfano Radzilani, their pleas fell on deaf ears. The technical team, however, brought on Ndivhuwo Masakona and Ndamulelo Mbezi in the place of Rendani Mukhese and Rabelani Muofhe respectively. Robbers could have scored more than a dozen goals, had they managed to convert all their chances. They were, however, denied sure goals by experienced former Dynamos and Black Leopards goalkeeper Amoni Phophi.
Pull Together's striker, Vuledzani Mahosi, missed a clear chance in the 40th minute. His team mate, Rudzani Ralushai, committed a similar blunder two minutes later. The half-time score was still nil-nil.
Robbers started the second half as if they were going to bury their opponents alive. Their breakthrough came in the 69th minute when Collen Sambo caught Phophi off guard and beat him with a volley. The equalizing goal came in the 82nd minute. Ndamulelo Mbezi scored from a free kick after he had been brought down. Late in the match, Advocate Mokoena of Robbers was sent off for a second bookable offence.
