As the country celebrates the month of love, one local artist has added to the fanfare by releasing a soothing love song, My Guitar.
Mushe Danken Sengadi, better known as Sledge Maro Mr Hustle, has released the new song - described as an intoxicating blend of romance and passion - just in time for Valentine's Day celebrations. The song was recorded at his studio, Sledge Maro Productions, and features the versatile artist Lil Rawfhy. The single serves as a build-up to his forthcoming third album, Tshihumbudzi, which is set for release in April.
The musician, from Makhitha in the Kutama area, is no novice in the industry. He has already released two albums, three EPs, and over 200 singles. One of the songs that made him a household name is Gold Digger, in which he featured KidWayneSa, Bimo, and TN De Pro. The track was released early in 2017, and later that year, he produced Hustle, featuring Vp-Talking and Andrea Saint.
According to Sledge Maro, his latest song is dedicated to lovers. "The song is for all couples, lovers, and partners. It is meant to be played while they are together, celebrating their love life. They should get on with the vibe and love lyrics," he said.
Sledge Maro's debut album, My 21st Album, was released in April 2021, followed by Matudzi Na Matula in August 2024.
He is currently preparing his third album, Tshihumbudzi, which is set to be released on his birthday in April this year.
