His appointment came into effect on Monday, October 27. Muneri has joined the other five members of the committee, Mrs Ria Ledwaba (chairperson), Mrs Stella Esbend, Mrs Nomsa Mahlangu, Ms Virginia Gabriels and Mr Brains Zulu.
Ledwaba was appointed the chairperson of the committee towards the end of last season. It is not the first time for Muneri and Ledwaba to work together in a football structure. They were members of the Premier Soccer League Board of Governors when their clubs, Dynamos and Ria Stars, were still campaigning in the Premier First Division.
Muneri was the chairperson of Dynamos Football Club, before Mr Peter Rabali bought the club's majority shares in the mid-nineties. He was appointed the chairperson of the NPER competitions committee five years ago, a position he relinquished two months ago.
In an interview with Mirror, shortly after receiving his appointment letter as a member of the women's football standing committee, Muneri described his appointment as recognition for the good services he is rendering to the community. He further indicated that he will work hard to prove that his appointment in the top structure was long overdue.
