Shelamboma FC emerged victorious at the inaugural Bogily Champ of Champs Tournament held over the weekend of 14-15 June at Bogily Adventure Farm Sports Ground in Ha-Ravele.
Sponsored by AM Hardware, 015 Company, and Exquisite Still Water Company, the event showcased top local talent in an intense two-day competition aimed at empowering young footballers in the community.
Tournament spokesperson Bono Buasi said the tournament's goal was to support disadvantaged youth and attract future sponsorships to put the region on the national soccer map. "We hope talented youngsters gain exposure and opportunities with bigger teams," she said.
In the quarter-finals, Green Mambas defeated Black Stars 2-0, while Shelamboma edged Black Dragons 4-3 in a thrilling encounter. Zoutpansberg FC advanced after beating Highlanders on penalties, and Mubva Allstars progressed after Muraleni FC were disqualified over ID document issues.
Shelamboma secured a spot in the final by beating Zoutpansberg 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Mubva Allstars defeated Green Mambas 4-1 in the other semi-final. Zoutpansberg claimed third place by overcoming Green Mambas in the playoff.
In the final, Shelamboma dominated Mubva Allstars, winning 4-0 to claim the 2025 title.
Shelamboma received R4,500 in cash, a trophy, soccer kit, ball, and gold medals. Mubva Allstars took home R3,000, soccer kit, ball, and silver medals. Zoutpansberg earned R1,500 for third place, while Green Mambas received R500 consolation.
