Manyalo musician Dakalo Dama, popularly known as Sister Gee, is making waves on the XiTsonga music scene. Hailing from Chavani village, she recently released her first Xigaza single, Mikwembu Mp3, recorded at Funzi Studio in Hamashamba and released last month.

The 33-year-old teamed up with renowned artist Mangzo to deliver an up-tempo dance track that has already captured fans' attention.

Sister Gee said her shift from manyalo to xigaza reflected her growth as an artist. "My time has finally arrived. I've spent years searching for my true self in the music industry. I started in 2010 with my first manyalo album, Ramaphosa, but then got stuck. Now I'm back full speed, and I believe my latest work will satisfy my fans," she said.

She credits her manager, Gabriel, for encouraging her to make a comeback. "If it wasn't for him suggesting I try xigaza, my music journey might have ended. The response from fans has been phenomenal—my phone never stops ringing, with people asking when I'll release a full album. This has inspired me, and I'm determined to release one before year-end," she said.

Sister Gee's love for music started early, though challenges in the industry delayed her career. "I loved singing as a child but doubted myself. When others succeeded, I realised I had to try. My first album in 2010 was my big break, and I hope this new single will elevate my career," she said.

Currently self-marketed, plans are underway to release Mikwembu Mp3 on all digital platforms.
