Shayandima Morning Stars collected six points in their two Sasol Women's League matches over the past weekend.
They beat Seven Stars Ladies 1-0 at the Ga-Malekana grounds in the Sekhukhune area on Saturday and the University of Limpopo FC by the same margin at the Guvhukuvhu grounds the following day.
The result of Sunday's match was not a true reflection of the game, as the Stars were all over the students from the onset to the end. Stars squandered three clear chances within the first 15 minutes of the game.
Munei Nemuramba went loose from the right corner and unleashed a half volley from the 20-meter area. The ball went far wide, much to the fans' disappointment. Dolly Nkuna committed a blunder moments later. She received a neat pass from Musiiwa Ramaremisa and unleashed aimlessly from close range and suffered the pain of watching the ball going wide.
The goal that earned Morning Stars the three points came in the 76th minute. Munei Nemuramba beat the offside trap and sent the keeper the wrong way with a half volley. The players and officials of University of Limpopo were not happy with the referee's decision. They argued that the goal scorer had been in an offside position.
