Teams are ready for the final round of matches in the third edition of the Liguluvhele Soccer Challenge, which will take place at the Ramantsha Blackpool Grounds on Saturday and Sunday (25 and 26 April).
A total of 32 teams are participating in the tournament, with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final scheduled for this weekend. The tournament started on 3 April.
The first match on Saturday will be between Madombidzha Arsenal and Tshikwani Stone Breakers at 08:30. The second match will see Western Stars take on SMSA FC at 10:30. This will be followed by a match between Makonde FC and ABC FC at 12:30. The final match of the day will see Ramantsha Blackpool face Thohoyandou Bayern at 14:30.
The winners of these matches will progress to the semi-finals and final on Sunday.
A former Premier Soccer League legend is expected to attend the matches and play alongside local legends before the final on Sunday.
The secretary of Madombidzha Arsenal, Mr Trinity Tshivhula, said the team had learned from their previous game’s slip-ups and would adopt a different approach. “The boys have to master the art of concentration and focus. I have therefore prepared them mentally not to make simple mistakes,” he said.
The Stone Breakers team manager, Vhamusanda Vho Mbulaheni Ramabulana, said their preparations were well under way. “My boys are looking forward to this challenge,” he said.
