Sixteen teams from across Vhembe are expected to take part in this year's Kamurini Soccer Tournament, with registration having opened on Monday.
Tournament organiser Cliff Nemakhavhani said there was no set closing date for registration. Instead, a first-come, first-served rule applies, and the window will close once proof of payment has been received from the 16th team. The registration fee is R1,000 per team.
Nemakhavhani said only teams affiliated with the SAFA Vhembe Regional League would be eligible to enter.
The tournament will take place at the Halambani Mahagala Young Stars Grounds, kicking off on 14 June. The final is scheduled for Saturday, 21 June.
The winning team will walk away with R15,000, a floating trophy and gold medals. The runners-up will receive R5,000 and silver medals. The two semi-finalists will each take home R2,500.
Nemakhavhani said only players registered with their respective teams for the current season would be eligible to participate. Players will be required to produce identity documents and registration cards as proof of registration.
