A sixth suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder of Majama Glen Nkuna (38) in Elim. The suspect was arrested on Friday morning (13 March) after police received a tip-off following the march by residents to the Waterval Police Station.
Vhembe police spokesperson Captain Vuledzani Dathi confirmed to Limpopo Mirror that a 21-year-old suspect had been arrested.
"He is expected to appear before the Waterval Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 16 March," he said.
Nkuna’s body was discovered next to the gate of Elim Hospital at about 03:00 on Sunday, 8 March. Emergency medical services were called, but he was declared dead at the scene.
Five other suspects linked to the case appeared in the Waterval Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 12 March. Three of the accused are 19 years old: Pfano Mukwevho, Rophiwa Tshisema and Clifford Munungufhala. Two other suspects are minors aged 16 and 17 whose identities cannot be published under the Child Justice Act.
The case against the five suspects was postponed to 18 March. They remain in custody while police conduct profiling and check whether they have previous convictions. Bail applications are expected to be heard on the next court date.
