The coach of Sinthumulekutama Ladies (SK), Dan Munyai, is optimistic that his team will soon secure promotion to the national league. The side, which competed in the SAFA Limpopo Sasol Women's League this season, will face Ramatlaohle Ladies FC in the provincial play-off at the end of the month.
The team from the western side of Louis Trichardt qualified for the play-offs after finishing top of Stream B. Munyai said they were preparing for the provincial promotional play-off against the Stream A champions. The date and venue have yet to be confirmed.
This will not be the first time the two teams clash in a play-off. Last season, they also met to decide who would be promoted, with Ramatlaohle thrashing SK 5-0.
Munyai is determined not to let history repeat itself. "Just reaching the promotional play-offs has boosted the girls' confidence and motivation," he said.
Team manager Caswell Mohale said that at the start of the season, he had been given the mandate to ensure they finished top of the log. "The girls are doing their best, and I am impressed with their performance," he said.
Mohale praised the squad's commitment, saying they were determined to become the best team in Limpopo. The club bought its league status from Two For Joy Ladies at the beginning of last year. He credited their success to a focus on nurturing young talent, noting that the Sinthumule and Kutama areas had an abundance of skilled players.
He added that the outcome now rested with the technical staff and players. "We know it won't be an easy game, but by the end of the match, we will be the winners," he said.
