Ramatlaohle Ladies proved far too strong for Sinthumulekutama (SK) Ladies FC, overpowering them 3-1 in their Safa Limpopo Sasol Women's League promotional playoff match on Sunday at Seshego Stadium.
With this victory, Ramatlaohle Ladies will now represent Limpopo in the national championship in November, where they will face the winners from the other provinces.
This was the second consecutive year the two teams met in the playoffs. Last year, SK suffered a heavy 5-0 defeat against Ramatlaohle.
Ms Betty Maseko, Ramatlaohle's coach, praised her team after their dominant performance. She said she felt they could have won by an even bigger margin. "We have a lot of games coming up, and this will motivate the players as they will play in a different competition," Maseko added.
SK coach Dan Munyai said afterwards: "We should have won the game. We had more than enough chances to win the game. But that's sometimes how it goes." He said his team had played well but had made unfortunate mistakes that had cost them dearly.
For Ramatlaohle, Reception Nkadimeng, Maureen Morudi and Koketso Tlailane scored, while Rotondwa "Makwa" Khorombi scored SK's solitary goal.
