In an attempt to keep the youth busy in a constructive manner, a resident of Dumela Village, Ntsako Maluleke, recently started the Dumela Development Sport Academy Foundation.

With its slogan Reach for the sky, Maluleke said that the foundation aimed to achieve excellence in the field of sports and create a society of healthy citizens by inculcating a sport culture in the youth. "We want to recognize new talent and to see players progressing through our ranks to play for the country. It will also improve the quality of life of individuals and contribute to the improvement of the community and help young people to develop self-esteem," Maluleke said.

The foundation accommodates boys from seven to 17 years and girls from 10 to 17 years old.

Maluleke said the youth from other areas were also welcome. She said that she fell in love with soccer at the age of seven. "To know the advantages and disadvantages of being a teenager, soccer prevented me from bad habits. I know that some kids aren't performing well at school but can play soccer very well. I just want to see them feeding or supporting their family through soccer," she said.

She can be reached on 078 011 9926 and 076 897 8669. She is also available on Facebook at GoeMatt Kylamu Sbedula.
