Some tight battles this weekend in SAFA Vhembe league

The SAFA Vhembe League saw varied results, with some teams dominating with multiple goals while others struggled, resulting in goalless draws.

It was a weekend of contrasts across the streams in the SAFA Vhembe League, with some sides delivering emphatic statements while others struggled to find the net.

In Stream A, Madonsi FC and Ntsemi FC both claimed 1-0 wins over Royal Classic and Merwe United respectively, while Magomani FC were the most impressive, cruising to a 3-0 victory over Magona United.

Stream B produced just one fixture — a goalless draw between Madridtas FC and Makwarani Frelimo Boys. The defenders were satisfied, but the strikers less so.

Stream C was where the goals arrived. FC Thondo and SMSA FC both hammered their opponents 4-0, beating Makhuvha All Stars and Mapate FC respectively. Saudi FC won 2-0 against Duthuni Happy Boys; Ngudza Young Vultures edged Maranzhe Hungry Lion 1-0; Shonisani FC beat Vondwe United 1-0; and Ngwenani Young Chiefs won 3-0 against Domboni FC.

Univen FC had mixed fortunes, beating SMSA FC 3-0 on Saturday before losing 2-1 to Tshakhuma Blue Birds the following day. Blue Birds FC secured a 2-1 victory over Shayandima Dynamos FC.

Stream E had its share of tight results, with Madombidzha Arsenal, Elim Seven Stars and Mpheni Academy all winning 2-1 against Matika FC, Tshiozwi Mates and Zoutpansberg respectively. Two matches ended goalless — Madombidzha Try Again vs Daniel Mubva FC, and Magau United vs Manavhela Black Aces. The result of the round, however, belonged to Makhitha Oscar Stars, who hammered Mailaskop Pull Together 5-0.

Stream G was competitive throughout. Maelula United Brothers won 3-0 against Mamuhoi Home Boys, Matanda Rockers beat Tshikombani United Brothers 3-1, and Mamvuka Young Movers secured a lively 4-2 win over Tshilogoni FC. Muraida Youth Development won 1-0 against Siloam XI Bullets, while Rabali Pull Together beat Chipolopolo FC by the same margin. Eagles United Stars and Tshivhilidulu Hungry Lion drew 1-1.

Stream I was one for the goalkeepers. Sambandou 7 Hunters and Maheni Devoted Vultures, as well as Rambuda Young Fighters and Tshibvumo FC, both played to 0-0 draws, while Tshilovi Fighting Angels and Sambandou United Professional were the only sides to score, drawing 1-1.
