With the Powerade Kremetart Cycle Race around the corner, the P&L Hardware Cycling Club has confirmed their commitment towards uplifting the sport of cycling by sponsoring a development side from Soweto.
The Lethabo Cycling Club from Soweto was invited to compete in this year's event on June 9. The P&L Hardware Cycling Club said they are proud to sponsor this club of motivated cyclists, especially as the Lethabo Cycling Club shares a similar vision to the P&L hardware Cycling Club, namely to be one of the leading cycling clubs in South Africa and to promote cycling as a competitive and recreational activity in the community.
The Soweto club's slogan is "Keep on Cycling", which fits in with the sentiments and enthusiasm for cycling of local cyclists - the numbers of which just keep on growing.
Most club members of Lethabo have already competed in a number of major races across the country and have done very well. These races include the Pick 'n Pay Cape Argus Cycle Challenge, the 94.7 Cycle Challenge, the Powerade Kremetart, Hyper to Hyper, Liberty Vets Tour in Mpumalanga, the Lost City Cycle Challenge and the Vodacom Race for Victory.
