Kaizer Chiefs have embarked on a mission to identify talented young players and to motivate them to take their education and sports seriously. It happened during a coaching clinic at Giyani last Wednesday.

The brand manager of Chiefs, Ms Jessica Motaung, said the idea of coaching clinics in the rural areas came about after they realised that a large portion of the young generation was not participating in sport but was "embracing alcohol, drugs and unprotected sex. Most of them end up being drop-outs and not succeeding in life. Sport will keep them focused," she added.

One of the Kaizer Chiefs supporters, Mr Victor "Maradona" Ratshibaya, was very happy that the current log leaders of the Premier League had visited the area. He said sport played a very important role in developing the children. "Children who are involved in sport tend to perform well in class and we will have better results in the long run," he said.

One of the young players who attended the clinic, Ntwanano Masingi, said that he learnt a lot from the Kaizer Chiefs crew. He said that his aim was to play in the high division.
