Sinthumule Dangerous Stars beat Gogobole Home Defenders 3-1 in a The Fresh One league match at the Gogobole grounds on Sunday.

The game was a balanced affair in the first 15 minutes, but Defenders created more scoring opportunities. Defenders started to demonstrate their rough skills in the middle of the first half. The referee calmed the situation by reprimanding Phethani Sikhwivhilu with a card after he had brutally tackled Percy Rasikhanya from behind.

The keeper of Stars, Stean Baloyi, made his presence felt in the 16th minute. Defenders were awarded a free kick just outside the box. Nyengedzo Davhana unleashed from the set piece. Baloyi impressed even the opponents when he braved the hot shot and executed a brilliant save.

Mutshidzi Raphebele was lucky to go away with a yellow card. He handled the ball intentionally, but the referee felt for him as he only flashed a yellow card when everyone thought Raphebele would be taking an early shower.

It took Stars 30 minutes to open their account. Their all-rounder, Tebogo Sethabane, was on target, following a neat pass from Bongani Mathivhela. Their second goal came in the 40th minute. Austin Pootana made no mistake after receiving a pre-cooked pass from Matodzi Tshivhula to make the half-time score 2-0.

Tebogo Sethabane completed his brace when he scored his team's third goal. Tshilidzi Mphidi scored the only goal of Defenders after he finished off a square pass from Ndivhuwo Sikhivhilu.
