Supt Nephawe was arrested earlier the week and brought to court. The case was postponed to Friday this week and Supt Nephawe was warned to appear again before the court.
On enquiry, a spokesperson for the SAPS confirmed the arrest and court appearance but denied rumours that the station commissioner had been temporarily suspended. It was confirmed that he was continuing with duties.
