Stiff fines were imposed on several affiliates of the Safa Vhembe League during a disciplinary committee meeting held in Thohoyandou last Saturday.

Tshanzhe Pre Mighty were found guilty of causing the abandonment of their match against Maholoni Stone Breakers. Tshanzhe were fined R8,000 for assaulting the referee and causing the indirect abandonment of the match. The team forfeited the three points to Breakers, and the fine must be paid within 30 days.

Lambani Bayern appeared before the disciplinary committee for fielding a player who had been red-carded in a previous match. The player, sent off in their game against Matsika Shooting Stars on 28 April, was included in the squad that played against Begwa United. Lambani were found guilty, fined R3,000, and forfeited the three points.

Merwe United pleaded guilty to assaulting the referee during their match against Halahala Fast Movers. They were also held accountable for damage to property. Merwe United were fined R9,050 and forfeited the points to Halahala.

Anell Real Viking failed to produce player registration cards when they played against Masisi Young Stars. They were fined R2,000, and the match will be replayed at a neutral venue.
