During a sitting at the league offices in Thohoyandou last Saturday, the disciplinary committee (DC) of the SAFA Vhembe League imposed heavy fines on several clubs for various offences.
Makhitha Oscar Stars were fined R6,000 for allegedly assaulting a Madombidzha Try Again player after they scored the second goal, which led to the abandonment of the match. The fine must be paid within 30 working days.
Madombidzha Try Again pleaded guilty and were fined R3,000 for failing to provide adequate security at their home venue during their match against Stars. The disciplinary committee also ordered that the match be replayed at a neutral venue.
Referee Khumbelo Rakhavha, who officiated the match between Madombidzha Try Again and Makhitha Oscar Stars, was suspended for six months for failing to issue a red card to Stars manager Thusani Luvhengo, who allegedly assaulted Try Again player Phindulo Mabasa and kicked the ball away from the centre line.
Madodonga United received a R3,000 fine for failing to produce players’ registration cards during their match against Makhitha Oscar Stars and forfeited the league points to Oscar Stars.
Magau United were fined R4,000 for failing to provide adequate security at their home venue during their match against Elim Seven Stars.
Elim Seven Stars pleaded guilty to abandoning their match against Magau United and were fined R3,000. They also forfeited the league points to Magau United.
SMSA FC were fined R3,000 for failing to provide a proper kit during their league match against Shilumane Academy. They also forfeited the league points to Shilumane Academy.
Benny’s Care were fined R4,000 for failing to properly mark the field during their match against Magau United and were ordered to forfeit three points to Magau United.
