The family of a 78-year-old man who mysteriously disappeared from his home say they are having sleepless nights as they continue searching for him.
Ndwakhulu Munzhelele, from Tshipise Tsha Sagole in the Musina area, went missing on Friday, 7 March. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain unclear, and his whereabouts are still unknown.
Family spokesperson Elisa Munyai said they were baffled by his disappearance. "I received a call from his wife, who told us he was not at home. She said she had left him at home on Friday to attend a funeral in the nearby Zwigodini village, but when she returned on Saturday, he was nowhere to be found," she said.
The family reported him missing and, with the help of the police and community members, launched a search. "It has been almost three weeks, but we have found nothing. As a family, we can hardly sleep. We feel helpless, because there are no clues. Three weeks is a long time for an elderly man like him to be missing," Munyai said.
Limpopo police spokesperson Sgt Maphure Manamela said that at the time of his disappearance, Munzhelele had been wearing black trousers, black shoes, and a white jacket. "He has white hair, a dark complexion, and is of short stature," he said.
The police have urged anyone with information that could assist in locating him to contact W/O Mulalo Muanalo at 073 265 0420, Crime Stop at 08600 10111, or use the MySAPS App.
