All roads will lead to the Khubvi Benjie's Grounds on Sunday. The semi-final and final matches for the Vision Soccer Tournament will be played there. The matches were initially scheduled for last Sunday at the same venue but were rescheduled after the vehicle transporting the players of one of the participating teams, Nweli Stone Breakers, from their quarter-final match last Saturday afternoon was involved in an accident.
Six players reportedly sustained minor injuries in the accident. They were taken to the Donald Fraser Hospital, where they were treated and discharged the following morning.
The first semi-final match will be between Berea FC and Musasenda Big Five, scheduled to start at 09:30. Berea brutally walloped Mbahe Freedom Rebels 5-1 in their quarter-final match last Saturday to secure a place in the semi-final round.
Musasenda Big Five's path to the semi-final stage went through Phandulaluvalo FC, whom they beat 3-1 at the same venue last Saturday.
Should they manage to lift the trophy on Sunday, this will be the fourth accolade for Berea FC within the space of two months. Berea FC were crowned champions of the Zwonaka and Lutande Eating House Tournament and the J and J Takalani Tournament, before they lifted the Nwali Soccer Tournament at the Khubvi Benjie's Grounds three weeks ago.
The second semi-final match will be between Nweli Stone Breakers and Vondwe XI Bullets, scheduled to start at 11:00. The winners of the semi-final matches will meet in the final later in the afternoon.
The champions of the tournament will receive a whopping cash prize of R15,000. The runners-up will take home R7,000. The team that claims the third position will be presented with R5,000, while the fourth-placed side will receive R3,000. Teams that bowed out of the tournament in the quarter-final round will each receive a consolation prize of R1,000.
