A Zimbabwean national, 37, has been arrested in Thohoyandou for suspected stolen property, including two iPhones linked to a house robbery. He was already wanted on an outstanding warrant for a similar offence from December 2023 and is awaiting a court appearance.

A 37-year-old Zimbabwean national, for whom a warrant of arrest was issued in 2023, has been detained in Thohoyandou after being found in possession of suspected stolen property.

The suspect was initially arrested after police found him with two iPhones believed to have been stolen during a house robbery in Maniini, Thohoyandou.

Further investigations revealed that he was already wanted in connection with another case of possession of suspected stolen property. A warrant for his arrest had been issued by a magistrate on 5 December 2023.

Police confirmed that the suspect was formally arrested on Friday and remains in custody. He is expected to appear in the Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court soon.
