A doctor from the Elim Hospital is currently behind bars after being accused of selling drugs.
The 34-year-old doctor was arrested together with an alleged accomplice, a 27-year-old man, at a house in Waterval by the local police yesterday.
According to provincial police spokesperson, Lt-Col Moatshe Ngoepe, the arrest was a result of the police's tactical sting operation to rid the area of drugs. During the arrest, said Ngoepe, police confiscated nine bags of nyaope, four bags of hard rock drugs, two smoking pipes and one plastic bag full of dagga.
The doctor and his co-accused are expected to appear in the Waterval magistrate's court soon.
