Tshivenda gospel artist Takie Sikhwivhilu is confident that she will win the Best Contemporary Gospel Song category at the Phalaphala FM Tshivenda Music Awards (TSHIMA). The winners will be announced during a glamorous function at the Kalahari Waterfront on 7 December.
Sikhwivhilu's song, U a thogomela, earned her a nomination at the TSHIMA. She was also among the gospel artists who performed at the PhalaPhala FM Royal Gospel Festival on 13 September.
Sikhwivhilu said she had just released her new worship CD, Dependable God, which features 16 tracks. On the new album, she collaborates with some well-known gospel artists, including Takalani Chairo, Ndivhaleni Musetha, and Lufuno Mathabi. She wrote and composed all the songs.
