Sixteen teams will compete this weekend for prize money of R10,000 in the Murema & Masedi Netball and Soccer Tournament.
Matches will take place on Sunday at the Makhitha Oscar Stars and Yellow Birds grounds. The champions will receive R10,000 in cash, a soccer kit, a trophy, and gold medals. The runners-up will earn R6,000, silver medals, and a soccer kit. Teams finishing third and fourth will each receive R2,000 and a ball.
Mr Thabang Masedi, a tournament sponsor and organiser, said the main goal of the event was to identify grassroots talent.
Makhitha Runga coach Mr Funi Thoga emphasised the importance of focus. "I have prepared the boys mentally to avoid simple mistakes," he said.
Hamula FC manager Mr Tungu Masingi expressed satisfaction with his team's form and readiness. "My boys are looking forward to this challenge," he said.
