The Mudifho Empire June 16 Top 8 Soccer Tournament will take place at Luvhalani Grounds on 14 June, with the final scheduled for 16 June as part of Youth Month celebrations.
The tournament promises competitive football action and attractive prizes for participating teams. The champions will receive R10,000, a floating trophy, a full soccer kit and gold medals. Runners-up will get R5,000, a soccer kit and silver medals.
The event is also expected to provide a platform for local players to showcase their talent, while promoting unity and youth development through sport.
Tournament sponsor Nadney “Professor wa Mudifho” Mulaudzi praised the initiative, saying it contributes to community development.
“As an emerging entrepreneur, I strongly support this initiative because it contributes to building and developing our communities. We hope other businesspeople will learn from this example and invest in projects that improve the lives of people in their communities,” said Mulaudzi.
The quarter-final fixtures on 14 June kick off at 09:00 with Rabali Pull Together vs Tshituni Hot Stars, followed by Mamvuka Young Movers against Mune Pumps FC at 11:00. At 13:00, Tshikuwi Stone Breakers face Luvhalani Sunshine Pirates, before Matsha All Stars take on Chipolopolo FC at 15:00.
