Ten-year-old Tshedza Thovhakale, a Grade 6 pupil at Emmanuel Christian School in Louis Trichardt, was crowned Princess in the Making during the Miss Elegant 2021 beauty pageant, held at the Mokopane Show Grounds on Saturday, 29 May.

Tshedza, who started modelling at the age of six, joined ACE Models in Louis Trichardt at the beginning of the year to help her build self-confidence and to learn more about the modelling industry.

She is very excited about scooping up the crown of Princess in the Making and cannot stop singing praises to her parents and the ACE Models agency. "My parents entered the competition for me," she said. "I won the Princess in the Making title, which simply means that I have great potential to be a supermodel. I won a very beautiful crown. It was a great competition and my first experience on a big stage like that, and in a town that I am not even familiar with! I have only joined local competitions here in Louis Trichardt," Tshedza said.

Tshedza's hobbies are modelling, swimming, gymnastics, and singing. "I believe that it is possible to achieve anything that you want through prayer and hard work," she said. "Whenever you feel helpless, never lose hope – you can still achieve more, just like me!"

Tshedza's parents, Mrs Tshililo and Mr Prince Thovhakale, are very proud of their daughter. "We are very happy and proud of Tshedza's achievements in modelling," they said. "She's very passionate about it and our duty is to give her our outmost support."
