Thabelo Muloiwa is the presenter of Radio Thohoyandou's current affairs programme, "Khari Fhatane", which airs from 10:00 to 12:00, Monday to Friday.
The 25-year-old Makwarela-born radio presenter said her passion for media had been ignited early on in her life as she would write and sometimes recite poetry in class. Naturally, back then, she was more interested in literature than media per se. "As I grew older, I fell in love with media broadcasting. After matriculating at Mbilwi Secondary School, I attended Rosebank College, where I studied journalism and media studies. I completed my studies in 2020 and did my work-integrated learning at Choice FM. My first job was at Vuwani FM in 2021, and now I am at Radio Thohoyandou."
Muloiwa said she had already built a solid relationship with her listeners. "The show is both phone-in and face-to-face interaction, but I mostly interact with my listeners through our Facebook page. What the show has taught me is that one should be friendly at all times. That way, the listeners always find you and your show interesting. My aim is to take the station to another level. It should trend and be popular through my social media streams. I do have dreams too, of course, and my eyes are set on working for one of the country's biggest stations, either the SABC or a private radio station," Muloiwa said.
