Rolivhuwa Romeo Dzedzemane, a local RnB and hip hop artist, is a force to be reckoned with. He is a real star and in a league of his own in Vhembe.

According to fellow-musicians and followers, he is a perfectionist and makes sure his sounds, melodies and voice blend together and enter the listeners' ears as sweet music. Before releasing or spreading his music on social media or sending it to radio stations, he makes sure he registers his intellectual property with Samro.

"I am a young, upcoming artist from the dusty streets of Lwamondo Tshivhale," he says. "I started my music career at the age of nine when I was a member of the school choir at Tshilidzini Special School. I loved music so much that I went on to initiate my choir in high school."

Earlier, in 2012, he started working with a group called JCR, with whom he recorded songs like They know, Turn it up and Lufuno. In his quest for growth and maturity, he teamed up and worked with other notable names in the music industry, such as Comzero and Meskay.

"It was in 2013 when I met producer and artist Rofhiwa Phuluwa in Johannesburg," he says. "We worked together on different projects, which also included the Ballers Academy project. Our relationship then saw us working on a project that became a solo project for me, where we did songs like Battlefield, Energy, and Vhandilani. All these are available in online stores."

Romeo received deserved recognition when he was nominated as best newcomer at the FAME Awards 2015.

He found another music producer, Mutshutshu Mphaphuli, also known as Adroitbeatz. Their relationship culminated in the release of an anthemic song, entitled Greatness.

"I released my long-awaited mix tape Ground Zero Mixtape, which had peaked at over 1 000 listeners in its first two days of release online," he said. "It includes the much-respected Want It All track."

Romeo is part of an organisation named Sliq Musiq Entertainment.
