Maindis Ladies Football Club are the league champions in the Limpopo Stream of the Sasol Women's Football League. They finished their league programme on top of the log after beating Kanatla Ladies on goal difference.

After they were crowned the champions, Maindis represented Limpopo Province in the inter-provincial tournament which was staged at the North West University two weeks ago. They proved that they are a team to be reckoned with as they reached the final stage of the tournament. They lost 0-2 to Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies in the final.

In an interview, the team's coach, Ms Rhulani Mathebula, revealed that everybody in the club was satisfied with the team's achievement, despite the fact that they could not bring the silverware to Limpopo. She described their way to the final as rocky, saying they managed to stand against all odds and reached the final.

She said that the team's success was not a one-man effort. She attributed all the accolades to discipline and dedication by the players and the manner in which the team was being managed. According to her, the players were all committed from the opening league match up to the bitter end.

Asked about some of the players whose performance was consistent throughout the season, Mathebula stated that they were playing as a team from day one until they reached the inter-provincial final. "I know that some people will argue that it was the players like Banyana Banyana's scoring machine, Noko Matlou, who contributed a great deal towards the team's success. I want to put the record straight by stating that she Noko was not playing alone in the team," she said.
