Thendelo Davhana is a versatile singer passionate about creating music that resonates with people. Her latest release is an Afro-Jazz single titled "I Will Never Leave You," which addresses the issue of gender-based violence (GBV). The song was released two weeks ago.

Davhana explained that the inspiration for the song came from the president's call to intensify the fight against GBV. "Enough is enough; we have to put a stop to violence against women and children. I decided to create this song because our country is grappling with a high rate of gender-based violence," said Davhana.

She added that the song also touched on domestic violence and the scourge of rape. "This is the kind of song South Africa needs. We hope that abusers and would-be abusers might listen to it and change their ways," she said.

Davhana described the single as her best release to date. "A lot of people are dying today in the name of love. We must all agree that when love fades, it's over. We need to learn to let go. What is the reason for killing someone who has chosen to move on with their life?" she asked.

Davhana emphasised that separating when a relationship was struggling was better than waiting until it ended in tragedy. "As artists, we have the duty to educate and entertain the community. It is my responsibility to warn people against the dangerous myth that pain strengthens love. If it's not working, walk away while you still can," she added.
