Popular Vhembe musician Thina Lucky Netshifhefhe, better known in entertainment circles as Thina, has made a strong return to the music scene with the release of his latest single, Masindi.
The single was recorded at Masana Records in Tshiawelo, Soweto, and produced by renowned producer DJ Davic. It was officially released on Tuesday, 2 June, and is available on all major digital music platforms.
Unlike many contemporary songs that focus on romance and celebration, Masindi tackles the realities and challenges faced by married couples.
“The institution of marriage is under severe attack with so many challenges attached to it. I am trying to prepare those intending to marry and those already in marriage to be ready for the challenges ahead … Every family has its own problems, and people should find ways to resolve them,” said Thina.
Hailing from Vondwe-Matatshe outside Thohoyandou in Limpopo, Thina has built a solid reputation as one of the province’s respected Tshivenda contemporary musicians. He is known for blending traditional Venda influences with modern Afro-pop and dance sounds, creating music that appeals to both younger audiences and lovers of traditional culture.
