Singer Aiyck Serongwa released his third music offering, an eight-track album, titled "Jesu o tsohile bafung", earlier this year. The album has been receiving rave reviews from music lovers.
Serongwa, who hails from Maebane, began singing many years ago as a member of the ZCC Sunday School choir. Today, he continues to sing in the ZCC Maebane choir.
"I grew up listening to role models like Derick Nzimande and many others, who inspired me a lot. Nzimande played music that could soothe the soul, and this deeply influenced me. I told myself that I would create the same type of music one day. I am determined to take it to another level, regardless of the odds," said Serongwa.
The new album features powerful tracks, including "O dzula vhudzumbamoni", "Re lebelele", and the hit track "Kgoshi Hezekiah".
Serongwa mentioned that although he is marketing the album himself, it has been receiving extensive airplay on various radio stations across the country since its release in May. He has already sold many copies. "I made a few changes to my new music, but I will continue to provide my fans with the same high-quality music as always."
He is gaining significant popularity among gospel music lovers because of his unique style, characterised by heavy bass sounds, some chopping sounds, and strategically placed brass elements.
Serongwa sings about personal experiences and observations from his surroundings. "I also offer advice here and there through my music. Judging by its popularity, I will continue to create this type of music."
When asked about his driving force in life, he stated that his love of music kept him going. "If it weren't for my music, I would have quit a long time ago."
