Art enthusiasts can look forward to this year's Thulamela Traditional Arts Festival, hosted by Thulamela Municipality's arts council. The festival is scheduled to take place at the Flora Masakona Hall on 22 and 23 September. More than 40 different traditional-dance groups, visual artists, and traditional-music groups will be performing on both days.
In an interview with Limpopo Mirror, the council's public relations officer, Mr Vhulenda Neluonde, said the festival would be in preparation for the big upcoming art show, which is to be held on National Heritage Day at Makwatambani (2010 Centre) on 24 September.
Neluonde said that they would be coordinating performances with the Vhembe District on National Heritage Day. "We have been approached by the Vhembe District Municipality to showcase our traditional dance groups during the municipality's annual Heritage Day celebrations," he said.
