Thuso Negondeni from Ha-Vhangani village, also known as Thuso Negza, started the new year with the release of his latest gospel single, titled Thendo Khavho. This new offering, released on 23 January, was received well by his eager fans.
The 28-year-old Thuso started singing in his church's Sunday-school choir at the age of three. Here he later started to put his writing skills to the test and began composing new songs for the choir. He also started preaching at his church.
In 2016, Thuso entered the annual Rofhiwa Gospel Star Search, a national gospel music singing competition, where he made the top 10. He hosted his first live concert in 2017, and tickets were sold out in no time. Between 2018 and 2019, he became the mass choir chairperson of the well-known Students Christian Organisation (SCO) at the University of Limpopo, where he completed his studies and graduated with a BPharm (Hons) degree. Today, he practices full-time as a pharmacist.
Thuso has shared the stage with several well-known gospel artists, such as Takie Ndou, Ps Lunghi Ndala, Sbu Noah, Rofhiwa Manyaga, Benjamin Dube, Dr Tumi, Takalani Chairo, and many others. His performances have taken him all over Limpopo and places such as Gauteng, the Western Cape, and the North West, and he even performed at Takie Ndou's 40th birthday celebration, known as "TT40". In 2021, Thuso signed with the popular record label In Hymn Records.
"As a contemporary gospel artist, my aim is to bring back and sustain a spirit of intense praise and worship where believers worship the Heavenly Father in truth and in spirit," he said.
