Makana "Tippy" Godzwana and his fiancée, Umpha Cleo Mudzanani, have released a new track, Nido Nkumbula, inspired by their personal relationship struggles. The song, available on all major platforms, blends their unique styles and serves as a candid reflection on love, forgiveness, and personal growth.

"We were exchanging words we would like to exchange in real life," Tippy said. "This track is based on real-life events, so we decided to express it in a song."

The couple's collaborative effort was not just about creating music – it was therapeutic. Tippy revealed that the inspiration for featuring Umpha came after a significant argument. "Although she forgave me, I knew things weren't fine. She used to freestyle for me, and I knew she was good but just afraid of being behind the mic. I asked her to express her feelings through the song, hoping it would help her feel better."

The Afro-pop track tackles issues faced in relationships, including betrayal and regret. Umpha's verses deliver a powerful message: "If you keep doing what you do, one day I'll leave and never look back." Reflecting on his role in their struggles, Tippy admitted, "I cheated and lied, but she forgave me. This song is a reminder that forgiveness has limits."

For Umpha, the experience was transformative. Known for her social-media content, this song marks her debut as an artist. "Most people knew me for my relationship and online presence, but now they see me as an artist too," she said. "Big shoutout to my fiancé for giving me the platform to showcase my hidden talent. It's an honour to work with him."

The couple's contrasting musical styles – Umpha's English rap and Tippy's soul-infused Venrap – complement each other beautifully. They plan to release a joint EP before June 2025, aiming to further merge their fan bases and styles.
