In their group-stage match of the Amos Charity Shield Soccer Tournament at the Tshisimani grounds on Saturday, Tshakhuma Na Ndilani (TNN) shared the spoils with Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM), following their 2-2 draw.
Although Gift Nemutandani of Tshakhuma Na Ndilani was warned with a card for obstruction six minutes into the game, he did not lose his fighting spirit. He continued to be a thorn in the flesh to the defenders of TTM. TNN opened their account in the 24th minute. Hulani Mphephu gave the ball the final touch after a scramble within the box.
TTM refused to recognize TNN as their superiors. They created numerous moves from behind, with their midfielders dishing out some telling passes to their goal poachers. A defender of TNN, Rialivhuwea Ratshilima, handled the ball within his own penalty area. That prompted the referee to award TTM a penalty. Lucky Ndou made no mistake from the white spot to bring the half-time score to 1-1.
TNN introduced Dakalo "Akonkwo" Nemakonde and Dakalo Mulaudzi for Rialivhuwa Ratshilima and Aaron Sithole respectively early in the second half. TNN took the lead again in the 64th minute. They were awarded a free kick at the edge of the penalty box. Maduvha Matodzi beat the keeper with a volley from the free kick. TTM's former Kaizer Chiefs centre forward, Chris Matombo, was booked for retaliating after he was badly tackled.
TTM replaced Ishmael Matodzi and Chris Matombo with Khathutshelo Mudau and Hector Ledwaba respectively later in the game. The replacements proved to be a clever move on the part of the team's technical staff as they managed to find the equalizer in the dying minutes of the game. Khathutshelo Mudau hooked in a loose ball after a square pass from Lufuno Mugodi.
