The Makhado (Louis Trichardt) traffic officer who was fined R500 for parking in a parking space reserved for handicapped people only, did pay his traffic fine last week but first attempted to have it withdrawn.
The traffic officer was fined on February 9, after an incident at the Makhado Crossing shopping centre.
According to information received from the local magistrate's court, the traffic officer first wanted a prosecutor to withdraw his fine. His request was refused, but the traffic officer did manage to have his fine reduced, after arguing that he did not have enough money. His fine was reduced to R200.
